Song for Bailey Holt

Bailey Holt lost her life in a school shooting in Benton, Kentucky on January 23, 2018. She was only 15 years old. I read about her, I saw her picture online, and I cried. And I found out that I am related to her, although distantly. The combination of all of this led me to write a song about Bailey. I tried to capture my own reactions as well as to consider what this must be like for Bailey's loved ones. This kind of tragedy has to be unbearable for any family. My family experienced its own tragedy (the sudden loss of my mother) some years ago, so I can understand some of the pain. I hope this song brings comfort to Bailey's family, and to others that have experienced similar traumas. Rest in Peace, dear Bailey.
